Building on the suite of digital tools developed in recent years, IMMOBLADE is introducing an innovative simplified diagnostic service to help understand the causes of summer discomfort.
IMMOBLADE is launching a simplified Summer Overheating Assessment for commercial buildings, designed for Thermal Engineering Offices, Project Managers, and Building Owners alike.
Solar gains play a key role in understanding summer comfort issues, as they generally account, together with internal heat sources, for most of the heat entering a building.
As a specialist in custom solar gain management for façades, IMMOBLADE has adapted its rapid façade analysis tools to create a simplified Summer Comfort Diagnostic. For most existing commercial buildings, this service provides a first-level assessment without the need to model the entire building using a Dynamic Thermal Simulation ("STD") software.
Integrated into its digital platform my-immoblade.com, this service allows users to request, in just a few clicks, a detailed report analysing solar gains, their seasonal variation, and their contribution on the hottest days. It also makes it possible to evaluate different families of passive or active solutions to address summer overheating in the assessed building.
"While promoting our passive solar control glazing, we realised through our client interactions how crucial solar gains are to summer comfort, and how challenging it can be for professionals to properly evaluate them. For example, a northwest façade often receives more solar radiation in summer than a south-facing one, which is counterintuitive," explains Xavier Sembély, President of IMMOBLADE.
"We also realised that all the digital tools IMMOBLADE had developed for façade analysis could be used to deliver a first-level diagnostic much faster than traditional DTS software. We want to make this tool available to the market, to engineering offices, project managers, and even building owners."
